John’s experience and knowledge of photography is almost endless. His books on the
subject have sold over 2 million copies, and he has photographed Prime Ministers,
Presidents, pop stars, and business tycoons.
He started off snapping stars like Gregory Peck and Fred Astaire as stills photographer
on 1959 film “On The Beach”. As a photojournalist, he provided the images
accompanying John Pilger’s pioneering journalism for the Daily Mirror, and covered
conflict in South Africa, India, and Northern Ireland. He has also worked with the moving
image, directing over thirty TV commercials.
All this talent and know-how is combined with his refreshing, down-to-earth Australian
charm, which gives him an unparalleled ability to put subjects at their ease – the key to
producing a professional yet personable portrait.
